At Ukoni, we were founded with the mission of sharing the incredible Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu). It's not just about drinking matcha, but about experiencing a ritual that embodies harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. The name Ukoni comes from the word "unique," because we believe that each of us is unique, with something special and valuable to offer the world. Just as matcha has a story to share, we believe that each person has their own path, wisdom, and energy to contribute.

TANUKI
The tanuki is a traditional Japanese figure that symbolizes good luck, transformation, and the joy of life. Inspired by a real animal—the Japanese raccoon dog—the tanuki of folklore is a magical and mischievous creature with the ability to shapeshift and attract prosperity.
It is often depicted with a large belly, a sake bottle, and a friendly smile, reflecting an optimistic, adaptable, and humorous spirit. In Japan, it is common to see tanuki statues in shops and restaurants as good luck charms to attract customers, happiness, and success.
The tanuki inspires us to live lightly, accept change, and find fortune in the most unexpected moments.
